I am a free lance guitarist and relocated to New York City from Berlin (Germany) in 2004. I was very fortunate and won a Green Card, which allows me to stay and work in the US.
Growing up in a small village in Bavaria (Germany) I came across the guitar at the age of 8. As a teenager I started a band with on school buddy of mine. It was a thrilling experience. After a few years we had this 10-piece Funk/Rock/Jazz band and we ended up playing in front of 4000 people as an opener for the Billy Cobham band.
After that I decided to become a professional musician. I enrolled at the Guitar-Institute of Munich and went on to Berklee College of Music, were I graduated in '95.
After my years at Berklee I studied briefly with Jerry Bergonzi and Hal Crook and also anticipated in workshops with Steve Khan, Frank Gambale, Kurt Rosenwinkel and Curt Verheyen.
I relocated to New York in 2004 and was working as a solo- and showband guitarist for Princess cruise lines until November 2006.
These days I perform around New York with my solo performance project to the silent movie Metropolis, the NYC guitar duo with Tasmanian guitarist Kent Thompson (playing also functions for German princess Gloria von Thurn und Taxis), collaborate with singer/songwriter Emily Anne Smith and was very fortunate to play with greats like bassist Marc Peterson (Cassandra Wilson, Lyle Lovett) and percusionist Hahlil (Roberta Flack).
My friend Heather Sullivan, a great singer/songwriter from Los Angelos made it happen. Thanks Heather!
I also tour in Europe with my German/Austrian improvisational Quartett Conundrum.
